Wavefront Rotator with Near-Zero Mean Polarization Change
An exciting milestone for our Quantum Imaging Technical Group, led by Prof. Anand Kumar Jha and Suman Karan.
This innovation is one of the key deliverables of the Quantum Imaging Technical Group. The group consists of eight PIs across four different institutions and aims to:
Develop novel quantum imaging and microscopy systems
Exploit quantum entanglement and correlations as key resources
The Innovation
The “Wavefront Rotator with Near-Zero Mean Polarization Change” has been developed by:
IIT Kanpur
Prof. Anand Kumar Jha
PhD student
Suman Karan
Key Features
Rotates any wavefront by 360°
Maintains angular deviation < 1 milli-radian
Keeps mean polarization change < 5%
Why it Matters
This innovation is an important step toward:
Achieving manipulation and control of orbital angular momentum (OAM)-based high-dimensional quantum states
Enabling greater accuracy and ease in quantum imaging applications
